Our Purpose The EmptyNesters is an official organization within the Washington Hebrew Congregation. It was created to serve as a religious and social meeting place for members of the WHC who want to stay connected to the Temple even though their kids have “flown the coop.”
Who Can Join the EmptyNesters? The membership requirements are somewhat obscure...but you must be a member of WHC. Most members are between 50 and 70+ but age is a self-limiting condition that we tend to ignore.
You might think it’s necessary to have an empty nest...but you’d be wrong! Some of our members are home alone while others have children at home and still others experience the joys of children at home from time to time. And if you’ve never had children, you’ve always had that empty nest...so you’re OK too. Is that clear?
The Executive Committee The EmptyNesters group is run (and we use that word loosely) by a steering committee chaired by Ruth and Karl Seif. For more information about this team, please click on Who’s Who.
