The legend of the EmptyNester Retreat was enhanced this weekend! Yes indeed...we held our annual EmptyNester Retreat in the woods at the Pearlstone Center near Baltimore. If you missed it, you missed a very special event. After presentations on Yiddish Expressions and the Jewish Kitchen, we did a book review of Man in the White Sharkskin Suit. We also spent some quality time with Cantor Manevich and Rabbi Farbman. We hope they recover! Two special highlights:
- We did not succeed in decoding the secrets of this week's Torah reading about Adam and Eve and the apple...but we did try.
- Nor did we succeed at mastering Israeli folk dancing (with Rocky Korr) although we probably did set some records for strange moves and overall klutziness.
Special thanks go to Joan Adoff, Marcia Weinberg, and Ruth Seif for putting this event together. They did a great job. And yes, we did survive the food although the coffee was a bit stale!!! Photos will be on the EN website soon.
