Luncheon and Journey through the Art of WHC
Our Guide, Art Historian and WHC Member, Mr. Murray White
Join us for a wonderful exploration of the art throughout our Temple. This event will include a luncheon, talk, and stroll led by art historian Murray White. Murray graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio and was a graduate student in art history at the University of Chicago. Over the last twenty years, he has written extensively on topics ranging from the fate of artworks that were looted from Jewish families during the Holocaust to the wisdom contained within masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture. Our journey will start after the conclusion of religious school. The details of the luncheon will be available soon.

Mitzvah Day is Coming Soon!

What is Mitzvah Day? Over the years thousands have participated in Mitzvah Day, but every member needs to know about a day that focuses on giving back to those who need a bit of help.
WHC initiated Mitzvah Day twenty-one years ago under the leadership of Rabbi Lustig. Today, Mitzvah Day is one of the largest undertakings at Temple and the event has become a national model. A steering committee of Temple members works for 9 months to organize over 40 projects that serve the needy in our area.
This year, on Sunday, April 22nd, our members will come together, and in just one day prepare hundreds of meals for the hungry and sort clothes for the homeless; brighten the days of children in need; visit seniors in Jewish nursing homes, provide entertainment to children and teens; paint or spruce up an agency working to serve underprivileged individuals; and clean up outdoor parks that are enjoyed by many in our community. Want to be part of the action? Email annefriedman@aol.com to get involved.
Please contact us with ideas, questions or suggestions. Chairs Linda Adams, adblatt@msn.com & Beth Dubin, bedubin@yahoo.com, welcome your thoughts!
