The Temple is asking for additional ushers for the High Holiday services. Our usher corps acts as WHC ambassadors by greeting congregants and welcoming everyone to the Temple. They help maintain the appropriate decorum and sanctity of the holy days both in and outside of the sanctuary. And very importantly, ushers help ensure that everyone is safe and that movement in and out of services and around the building is orderly.
While the Temple does employ professional security officers for the holidays, our ushers also assist in contributing to the overall security of our synagogue. We have one or two meetings prior to the holidays to review High Holy Day policies as well as safety and security procedures. Congregants can usher at as many or as few services as they desire.
